Go to Admin Page > Member Functions > Edit Member Groups. |
2.

You can create a custom group on this page by adding it to the Additional Member Groups text box (at the bottom of the page/form). For this example lets say you created a group called Secure Member. Just type that in the last box and click Save.
3.
Go to your Admin Section > Create New Board And Forum Functions > Edit Categories. On this page/form there are several boxes to fill out (fill them all out based on the instructions listed on the page). The last box on the page is the one that allows you to make private categories/boards. Go to the last box and enter in the custom member group you created (ex. Secure Member), that you want to allow access to and click on Create.
4.
Go to the Admin Section and choose View/Edit Members, then choose the members(s) you want to give access by clicking on their name, then click on Modify (at bottom of page) this will take you to their profile page. Go to the bottom of this page (second box up from bottom) and change the Position (drop down) to Secure Member, then click Change Profile. You will need to do this for all of the members that you want to allow access to.
5.
Your private category is setup. Now all you have to do is create a board(s) under that category.
Once you done, this new category/board will only display on the main page if the member logged-in has access. If they don’t have access the category/board will not display.
