1.  How to create categories & boards

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Manage Boards
  3. Follow instruction on page.

2.  How to edit the structure (look) 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Theme and Layout Settings to edit any of the themes provided (except the default) that one cannot be edited.
  3. Click on the desired theme under Theme Settings heading
  4. Click on: Modify the index template. (the main template)
  5. Edit HTML code on page

3.  How to edit board colors & fonts using HTML 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Theme and Layout Settings to edit any of the themes provided (except the default) that one cannot be edited.
  3. Click on the desired theme under Theme Settings heading
  4. Click on: Modify the style.css file. (colors, fonts, etc.)
  5. Edit HTML code on page

4.  How to choose a new color/skin for your board using our pre-made designs 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click Theme and Layout Settings
  3. Scroll down to the fourth option ("Reset everyone to") and choose one of the color combinations from the drop down menu.
  4. Click Save

5.  How to add smiley sets 

  1. Click on Admin
  2. Click on Smileys and Smiley Sets
  3. Click on "New Smiley Set" button
  4. Change the "Base URL to all smiley sets"
  5. Change Set Name and edit URL of your smiley location
  6. Click the Radio Button opposite to your desired smiley sets location
  7. Click on Save changes

7.  How to remove forum news 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Current Theme's Settings
  3. Scroll down to Enable News?
  4. Un-check the box to remove | check the box to add
  5. Click Save

8.  How to add secondary news frame under masthead 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Current Theme's Settings
  3. Scroll down to Show news fader on board index
  4. Check the box to add | un-check the box to remove
  5. Click Save

9.  How to add posting to calendar 

  1. Click Calendar on top menu
  2. Click on a date (the actual number)
  3. Post message

10.  How to activate Karma 

  1. Click on Admin
  2. Click on Edit Features and Options
  3. Scroll down to bottom of page
  4. Click on the arrow on left side of page pointing right to open Karma section
  5. Choose Enable Karma from drop down menu

11.  How to view and give Karma 

  1. Go to a post made by a board member
  2. Look under the users name (under the stars that represent that members level)
  3. Choose to give or take away karma points

  1. Click Login
  2. Click on Forgot Password link on bottom of page (sign-in box)

25.  How to add a moderator 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Manage Boards
  3. Choose the board you wish to add moderator
  4. Add moderators to the moderators box (they must be a registered member)

26.  How to disallow guest from doing anything (no access) 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Edit Permissions
  3. Click on Modify (on same line as unregistered guest)
  4. Set your permissions (access levels)

27.  How to make a board private 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Manage Boards
  3. Click on Permissions or Modify (on same line as board)
  4. Choose which member group has access by checking or un-checking access boxes

28.  How to change a member’s position 

  1. Click on Admin
  2. Click on View/Delete Members
  3. Choose desired member
  4. Click on Account Related Settings
  5. Scroll to second section on page and choose member group

29.  How to change time settings 

  1. Click Admin
  2. Click on Edit Features and Options
  3. Go to third section on the page - Overall time offset and use plus or minus sign. ex: -12 or +12 Note: Avoid using semicolon

30.  How To Solve - Login Problem 1 – Hotmail and Yahoo email users 

Hotmail & YAHOO Email Users - If you received your welcome email in your Hotmail or Yahoo email and click your board URL (address) you may have a login problem. To prevent this, please cut and paste your board URL in a new browser window. This will allow you to load your board in its own window and not under the Hotmail or Yahoo frame/window which causes login conflicts.


31.  How To Solve - Login Problem 2 - Non Hotmail and Yahoo email users 

Your browser may not be setup properly. Please do the following and you will find that forum communications for this site and other forum sites improves:

  1. Click on "tools" on the menu bar on your browser (Internet Explorer.)
  2. Click on "Internet Options" on the drop menu.
  3. On the window that pops up, click on the "privacy" tab.
  4. Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low.
  5. Click "ok".
This should take care of the logging issue. If you still have problems staying logged on after this setting, This next step is required to enable your browser:
  1. Click on "tools" on the menu bar on your browser (Internet Explorer).
  2. Click on "Internet Options" on the drop menu.
  3. On the window that pops up, click on the "security" tab.
  4. Click on the "custom" button.
  5. On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position.
  6. Click "save".


32.  How To Solve - AOL email users – did not receive welcome email

If you signed up for a board or registered on a board you may not get your welcome email. AOL has created a block on emails that come from a company without the use of a sender personal name. Welcome emails from xsorbit come from support@xsorbit.com (not a person) so this gets blocked occasionally or sent to the AOL junk-mail/spam mail folder.

We suggest you try the following (in the order below):

  1. Go to your settings in AOL and modify your settings to make Xsorbit an accepted mailer (approve email sender).
  2. Register again with a non AOL email address (if you are a registered user, not board owner).
  3. If none of the above work?  (1-2) – open up a ticket and one of our customer support staff will assist you.

33.  How to change password 

  1. Login
  2. Click Profile
  3. Click on Account Related Settings
  4. Scroll to fourth section on page
  5. Enter in your new password

34.  How to change your board name 

  1. Login
  2. Click Edit Server Settings
  3. Change board name in the box provided
  4. Click Save
